The Left's Book Burning Party

MoveOn. org has a interesting video titled This Is How You Beat The Tea Party . The video is smug in its message but clearly shows how the left has embraced the "end always justifies the means" approach, voiced by their mentor Saul Alinsky,  “do what you can with what you have and clothe it with moral arguments.”. The video is about a Library in Troy, Michigan. The city needed money so they decided they would either have to close a library or raise taxes. An initiative was placed on a ballot to see if the residents wanted to raise taxes on themselves to keep their library. The Tea party in the area organized the no argument wanting no new taxes. The yes argument was the tax would be small in comparison to the cities need for the library; but it appeared the tax initiative would go down in defeat. Then suddenly these bizarre signs signs started to appear all over town and there was even a Facebook page for touting the burning of the library books.

Now of course the Tea Party had no idea where they were coming from nor did the city. But the postures went viral, all accusing the Tea Party of wanting to burn the library books; finally just before the vote a young group of socialists took ownership of the postures. They said they wanted to get attention in an audacious manner to swing the election to force a new tax, so they decided to put a vile face on the Tea Party and came up with the idea of portraying the Tea Party as NAZI’s. Well the tactic worked. By the time the true nature of the signs had come to light the vote was over, with most the voters voting for the new tax solely because they did not want to be associated with book burning even if it was a fallacy perpetrated by the left.

But there is nothing new here. The left can never present a true accounting of their agenda to destroy capitalism, so instead of presenting their socialist agenda, they demonize their opponents, usually using rhetoric that more closely resembles their actions than that of their opponents. Typical is the left crying racism any time someone disagrees with President Obama’s socialists policies. This of course continues a false paradigm ignoring the facts that it was the Democrats who initiated a Welfare scheme that subsidized poverty by making the blacks and poor completely reliant on Government handouts and the destruction of the black family by only paying unwed mothers or families that the father had abandoned. That's right, nothing to see here just MoveOn.

Chris Matthews is Schooled on the Tea Party

This Chris Matthews HardBall (March 30, 2010) didn't go the way he wanted. Matthews was trying to make the point that the Tea Party is racist, probably thinking Conservative Dana Leosch would be an easy kill. Matthews also had a Princeton Professor, presumably teaching Black studies, waiting in the wings; both got spanked by Leosh. I am still amazed at the lack of original thought by the left. All they have is the same old tired talking points, which Leosch took on, several times laughing at Matthews. Matthews typical style of throwing a barrage of unrelated rhetoric, hoping one will befuddle his opponent simply did not work. Leosch never let Matthews get away with these shenanigans, responding to every talking point and not letting Matthews move on unschooled. Enough of an introduction, watch and enjoy.

Don't Believe Everything You Think

We live in a time where confidence in our nation's leaders are at an all time low. Free press is protected in the Bill of Rights, and described in the Virginia Bill of Rights; "the freedom of the press is one of the greatest bulwarks of liberty and can never be restrained but by despotic governments." The job of the press is to educate the electorate, so “we the people” can know what government is doing and can wisely choose our representatives. What is rarely discussed, but just as important, is a free press is a pressure is the valve of the electorate. If the people lose a free and objective press, then they have lost a voice in the bully pulpit of the press; Mark Twain said, "Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel". It is commonly said a free press is necessary for the maintenance of a political democracy. But what happens when a free press is either oppressed or self censored? There are two probable results. The first and historic reaction is a hollow Democratic state, that degrades into a totalitarian regime. The other direction has never been seen before. It is when a people, so entrenched in the god given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happines take to the streets; not to overthrow their government, but for the reconstruction of the Democratic state. America has seen attempts at deconstruction in the past, but the difference today is the media is unbalanced, blindly following an ideology that is not consistence with the constitution or the will of the majority.

It is expected that the press should be objectively adversarial toward the President. But what America saw with the election of President Obama, was the end of the political Left/ Right paradigm. In the name of security, President Bush (43) enacted some Draconian policies, while increasing the size of government and governmental spending. For this, he was continually lambasted by the press. However, when Obama continued Bush's policies, the press is consistently silent. While this could be taken was an indictment of the press, it also shows that, all posturing aside, the Republicans and Democrats simply offer the same political state. Our leaders lie to us so often, that integrity is no longer expected, and the lack of vigilance by the press leaves no accountability of government, as truth and action become different forms of rhetoric.

The lack of a free press has cause increased polarization amongst the citizenry. The cause is blind ideology that is no longer mitigated by an educating press. Glenn Beck wrote a book called “Arguing with Idiots”, with the misplaced belief that one could win a political argument using history and facts. An example is the new Arizona law that allows state law enforcement to identify and jail illegal immigrants. The Obama administration has repeatedly cast the law with a very unfavourable light, yet it appears few if any members of his administration has even read the law. Although it is my contention that substance doesn't really matter in the current polarized ideological arguments of today, it does matter in the area of competence. It has become an on going embarrassment to the Obama Administration, when the Attorney General, Eric Holden, the head of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano, and State Department spokesmen P. J. Crowley have had to publicly admit they have not read the law.

The key to Marxism is manipulating the ignorant masses; that they have just enough intelligence that they would not knowingly give themselves over to such an oppressive form of government. Our founding fathers designed a government where the people are in charge. To maintain our freedoms and liberty, the people need good information so they can educate themselves. Today we are getting bad information. However, the American people have one ace up it's sleeve; they know no other style of government. In every other case were capitalism has degraded into totalitarianism, the country's form of government was not static; in America our government defines our country. I said earlier that the press' job is to be a pressure relief valve for a non-responsive government. When that failed, we saw the emergence of the Tea Party movement. The idealogical Left has nothing but disdain for the Tea Party, but the alternative would have been much worse for them. They want to make light of the Tea Party because they fear them so much. Without the Tea Parties however, there probably would have been rioting in the streets. The Left once again underestimated the American people and they have found a way to communicate and educate through the Internet. Expect the president, congress, and yes the press, to push forward with their assault on free speech; but I predict it will be to little to late.

No Mr Clinton, We the People Will Not Be Quiet

Apparently, ex-President Clinton feels that US citizens are "disoriented" if they feel that government must be stopped from bankrupting the country, by encouraging citizens to use peaceful and democratic means to demonstrate and “vote the bums out”. Our ex-President said, "I realized that there were lot of parallels between the early '90s and now, both in the feeling of economic dislocation, the level of uncertainty people felt, the rise of kind of identity politics, the rise of the militia movements and right-wing talk radio, with a lot of what's going on in the blogosphere now, and in the right-wing media." Here, our ex-President attempts to rewrite history and mitigate the responsibility he and Janet Reno have never accepted for Oklahoma City; namely Ruby Ridge and Waco. What the US faced in the “mid-‘90s”, was an overzealous ATF and FBI, who felt it was their responsibility to root out Second Amendment advocates that mistrusted the government enough to hold up in some out of the way place and tell the Feds to go away and not bother them. While most Americans know little about these two incidents, those with more interest know they ended very badly with the blame placed squarely on then President Clinton and his Attorney General, Janet Reno. Ruby Ridge was later determined by court hearings, to be the result of an out of control ATF, FBI and by proxy, the federal government. WACO was also shown to be mainly the fault of over zealousness and and impatient law enforcement, chasing hypothetical criminal activity. Dick Morse said later that Janet Reno blackmailed President Clinton to re-appoint her as the US Attorney General, or she would released, “the truth about Waco”.

So, when comparing the current Tea Party demonstrations, there are no parallels with the mid-90’s and Oklahoma City. The Tea Party movement is a constitutionally grounded movement, demonstrating for restrained and limited government, accountability and the rule of law. The incidents leading up to the Oklahoma City bombing, is like a countdown toward anti-government violence; 1992- Ruby Ridge, 1993- Waco, 1994- federal assault weapons ban, 1995- the Oklahoma City bombing. The first events threatened a small group of armed and extremely anti-government individuals, that resulted in the domestic terrorist bombing we know as Oklahoma City. No Mr President, there is no parallels here, only your attempts to silence those protesting our corrupt unresponsive government.

Ex-President Clinton said, "Fifteen years ago, the line was crossed in Oklahoma City. In the current climate, with so many threats against the president, members of Congress and other public servants, we owe it to the victims of Oklahoma City, and those who survived and responded so bravely, not to cross it again." The truth is of course, that we owe it to the victims of Oklahoma City, to maintain our First Amendment Rights, and to utilize our right to free speech when we disagree with your government; allowing rigorous and robust disagreement with the government is the very reason the First Amendment exists in our Constitution. No line was crossed, because our Constitution prevents the government from ever drawing such a line.

Finally Clinton warned "there is a big difference between criticizing a policy or a politician and demonizing the government that guarantees our freedoms and the public servants who enforce our laws." Again no, No Mr President! There is no difference! During the Bush (43) administration there were daily threats against the president; with books, movies and signs, calling for his assassination. Interestingly there was no call for restraint from Clinton, or any other Left leaning politician. Only when a group of peaceful Americans, with all polls showing them mirroring the beliefs of the majority of the county, use demonstrations to protest the policies of President Obama and the Democrat run Congress, has some line been crossed. Again I say No, there is no line here! The Tea Party is the physical manifestation of the American spirit, espousing its god given rights to freedom and liberty. Mr Clinton, the First Amendment says the government can not infringe on the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. In this great country, the people are the government and have not only the right but the obligation to take back their government when they deem it necessary.
